About AfriChild

AfriChild Centre was established in 2013 through a collaborative initiative among six founding institutions, namely the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development (MoGLSD), United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) Uganda, ChildFund International Uganda, Makerere University, the Transcultural Psychosocial Organisation (TPO) Uganda, and Columbia University.

The Centre emerged as a response to a critical need identified by the Uganda Programme Learning Group (PLG) under the Child Protection in Crisis Network, to strengthen the generation and utilisation of research evidence to inform child-focused policy and programming.
