Makerere University (MUK) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) Uganda signed a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that formalized a two-year, renewable partnership aimed at advancing child rights and well-being through rigorous research, capacity building, and policy-driven innovation. The agreement was signed on August 14, 2025, by Makerere Vice Chancellor Professor Barnabas Nawangwe and UNICEF Uganda Representative Dr. Robin Nandy in the Vice Chancellor's Boardroom at Makerere's Main Building, cementing what both leaders described as a natural evolution of their institutions' shared commitment to evidence-based child welfare.
